Fibrefest is held each year in Almonte which has been part of the town of Mississippi Mills since 1998.
Fibrefest is held each year in early September in Almonte at the Almonte Community Centre. Vendors of fibre arts supplies and finished goods along with local guilds are on hand at this popular event to demonstrate the arts of knitting, lacemaking, smocking, weaving, spinning, quilting and penny rug making. Members of The Guild attended this year's Fibrefest and showed a selection of our projects to visitors. Each year Guild members demonstrate the use of the pleater and explain our service project, the advantages of membership in our organization as well as answering questions.

Once again, the Smockers Guild brought their beautiful display to Fibrefest in Almonte and demonstrated the art of smocking to the crowds of people there.

This annual event attracts thousands of interested people, year after year, from the surrounding communities throughout the Ottawa valley.
